SNL, DMB, CELTS & PATS

It's amazing how fast weekends have been going by recently. Back to work tomorrow for two days before enjoying two days off for Thanksgiving then back to work on Friday before enjoying another weekend.

Last night Dave Matthews Band made a performance on Saturday Night Live. Dave played Ozzie Osborne in 'The Mellow Show' sketch and then the band performed "You & Me" and "Shake Me Like A Monkey." I posted a video of the sketch and first song below (although both videos will be short lived).

At 1pm today the Celtics play the Knicks in NY and at 4:15 the Patriots host the Jets and then tonight at 8 the American Music Awards take place. By far the worst music awards ceremony but I'll be watching if there's nothing else on.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

The End Of The Weekend

I just finished a ton of cleaning and threw in a chicken pot pie. It should be ready within an hour or so. Now I'm just relaxing and finishing my laundry. Back to work tomorrow... bummer.

I went down to Chelmsford yesterday and saw "A Christmas Carol" in 3D at the Showcase Cinemas in Lowell. It was a very good movie although if you have young children some parts may be too scary. Definitely not an uplifting movie at the beginning.

The 3D part is very cool though. It has come a long way since the first 3D movie I saw: "Captain EO" featuring Michael Jackson (which could be seen at Epcot Center back in the '80's and '90's).

After the movie we went over to Chili's and simply ate too much. We got the 3 courses 2 people for $20 deal. Too much food but it was good. I highly recommend the "Sweet Shots" for dessert. We barely finished 2 of the 3 but mmmm... so good!

'Live High'

I have been a big fan of Jason Mraz pretty much since the first time he released his first single ("The Remedy"). Something about his voice and the way he carries himself is unique. So many of his songs are just amazing. "The Boy's Gone Home," "Dynamo of Volition," and the one below ("Live High") are just a few.

I have also been fortunate to see him perform live in person twice, both times at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. Yet the performance below has got to rank among the top. He appeared on 'The Tonight Show' Thursday night and from start to finish, this is one amazing song!

There is a brief commercial (~14 seconds) before Hulu skips to the start of Conan's introduction.

ENJOY!

I'm still alive!

It's Thursday night and I am on the eve of another 3-day weekend. I took tomorrow off for a much needed break from the daily stresses at work.

Tomorrow I plan on getting my hair cut, do some food shopping and then head down to the Old Navy at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester then go over to Mike & Stacy's (from work) to hang out for a bit.

On Saturday I am going down to my parent's and my Mom and I are going to see 'A Christmas Carol' at the Showcase Cinemas in Lowell. It's in 3D so it should be cool.

Sunday I will do the final stuff around the condo and watch the Pats take on Indy on Sunday night football.

Totally unrelated: I downloaded Microsoft Office 2007 for $9.95 (legally) through work. I configured Outlook and love it and will soon begin playing with PowerPoint so I can get some experience creating presentations. It is a skill used so much now in all types of businesses.

Finally, if you're up late tonight, check out the 'Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.' The musical guest tonight: Jason Mraz. Unfortunately you have to sit through an Al Gore interview... blech!

Lack of updates

I admit my blogging has trailed off drastically over the past few months.  I'm not exactly sure why but it is most likely a combination of the direction the country is going in, the way I feel about my job, and just a lot of "non-news" on a personal level.

Earlier today I did pick up a digital camera online.  It's the Kodak C190 (12MP, 5X zoom, case, batteries, and battery charger).

It's a simple camera (no fancy features), but does have face detection, different scene modes and is PictBridge compatible so it will work with my Polaroid Pogo printer that I bought earlier this year.

I'll be watching the Celtics tonight and tuning into the World Series to see the National Anthem.  Here's a video of the past two performances (John Legend & the cast of "Glee").

I have training at work tomorrow, Tuesday and half of Wednesday which means no phone calls and an 8:30-5 shift (instead of my normal 7:30-4).

I guess that's all for now.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

Mazda3

Really quick post tonight.  I got together some videos from CNET who took a look at the 2009 Mazda3 s GT:

A quick look at the 2010 Mazda3 at the LA Auto Show:

Neither one of these is the exact nodel I would buy but the features are pretty much identical.

Random Thoughts

I am in the midst of my 3rd 3-day weekend in a row.  I went to CJ's (Cactus Jacks) Friday night after work with two people from work.  Really good food.  I recommend it!

Last night I went to Brian's Halloween Horror Bash.  It was a great time with good food.  If you are friends with me on Facebook I have added a photo album with a few photos I took with my cell phone.  Really good costumes too!

No other news really.  I am starting to look for a new car and like the Mazda 3 5-door.  I hope to get something early next year.

I guess that's about it for now.  Going to watch game 6 of the ALCS tonight on FOX.  Hopefully there will be a game 7 (that would be played tomorrow night).

I should post something tomorrow between all of the work I am doing around the condo (laundry, vacuum, clean the kitchen and bathroom).

Have a great night everyone and GO ANGELS!
